There’s no doubt about it. These are troubling times. 2020 has definitely hit us hard, but through it all, I’m trying to keep looking for positives. Having my gigs cancelled and nowhere to be, meant I suddenly had a whole heap of spare time to fill, so I started thinking of ways I could somehow give back. Music is the only thing I know how to do, so I thought about who would benefit the most from hearing it and how I might be able to deliver it to them during the “lockdown”. This following video shows what I came up with.
It was a wonderful, heartwarming, bucket-filling afternoon and I’m so grateful to the staff at Opal Aged Care in Alfred Cove for allowing my dream to become a reality. They do a fantastic job of looking after our most vulnerable. Keep sharing the love y’all, in any way you can! xx
I had to show you this video (even though it’s not the greatest quality)!
It’s a live video of Trevor Jalla, a fellow Perth musician and awesome guy, doing an instrumental version of my song I Will Not Fall.
This had nothing to do with me either! We were put on the same bill on a local songwriter night and when he got up to do his set, he announced that he was going to play it. I was SOOOO shocked and flattered and humbled! I couldn’t believe he liked my song enough to arrange an instrumental version of it!!! My eyes may have leaked a little while he played it 🙂 Absolutely incredible!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
If you haven’t heard my recording of it, you can listen to a sample here or if you would like a FREE download, read this blog post.
I co-wrote the song with a brilliant singer-songwriter from Brighton, by the name ofEmily Baker, while I was living in the UK. I have to say that it’s my favourite track from my album Piece By Piece which you can find by clicking this link.
